Green LED enhances auxiliary
photoflash in digital cameras

SMT device delivers 40 cd at 20 mA

Created to support the auto-focusing function in digital still cameras used in low-ambient-light conditions, the ASMT-FG10 auxiliary flash LED offers an alternative to conventional IR auxiliary auto-focus solutions. The RoHS-compliant 4.8 x 4.8 x 5.33-mm dome-lensed device delivers 535-nm light with an output of 40 cd at 20 mA with a 6° viewing angle.

The LED takes advantage of the high sensitivity to the color green in digital still cameras due to the availability of more photodiodes allocated for green in each pixel. ($0.60 ea/10,000available now.)
